Lynne's shades of Orange

Good morning Stampers! Sally here, just popping in with our mid month post and a reminder that our current theme is Anything goes with a stamp and a die and runs until Wednesday 3rd September. That means you still have plenty of time to join in for a chance to win the great prize from Tattered Lace, it's a fabulous £50 store voucher - The DT are wishing they could join in too!

Following our current mid month theme it's the turn of Lynne to use her least favourite colour, orange, although she has produced a real beauty of a card using it! Over to Lynne...

When trying to decide on my least favourite colour to work with, my first thought was of course it would have to be pink. I much prefer cool colours - blues, purples and greens, but looking through my archive, I realise that actually I do use pink now and again, albeit the softer, dusky shades. I really don't like hot bright pinks, Barbie pinks, as Sally calls them! However, the colour even less likely to figure in my work is probably orange. I would use it in small amounts amongst greens, reds, yellows and browns for an autumn theme, but not as a main colour, so I decided to go with it for my mid-month sample.

Hmm. Easier said than done! I have very little in the way of orange card or papers in my stash! Eventually I found a few sheets in shades of coral, peach and apricot amongst a 6" x 6" multi pack, and an odd A4 sheet in a slightly brighter orange which I used to cover the front of the card. To fit with this month's theme of Anything Goes With A Stamp And A Die,  I chose a couple of Spellbinder dies and the gorgeous poppy stamp from Technique Tuesday. I coloured the image with Promarkers, and couldn't resist adding a touch of pale turquoise for contrast. I quite like the result, but I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy more orange papers!

Many Thanks, Lynne! It certainly doesn't look like you are uncomfortable using orange from here!

August challenge - Anything Goes with a stamp and a die

Good morning and welcome to our August challenge and this month our theme is ......................

******Anything Goes with a stamp and a die******

Dies play such a big part in our crafting now and work so well alongside our stamps so I am sure you will be bursting with idea this month.

Usual rules apply, you can enter up to three times, combine with other challenges, use any make of stamp......but can I please remind you.........we are a stamping challenge so must see a stamped image, sentiment or quote as the focal element of your artworkIt so upsets us to see names come out in the draw who are not eligible for the prize because they have not read the rules.

Our sponsor this month is Tattered Lace who are very generously offering one lucky winner a £50 store voucher to spend at their on line store. The award winning Tattered Lace company needs little introduction, they are synonymous with quality products coupled with the unique style and flair of Stephanie Weightman, you will find the whole range of products on the website here as well as regular inspiration on their blog here.

We are pleased to welcome Julie as our Guest Designer this month, here is her lovely card..........

July winners

Hello Peeps, time to announce the winners of our Feature a Creature theme which judging by the lovely entries you really enjoyed, thank you all so much for joining in.

As many of you know our winners are selected by the DT rather than a random draw, each DT vote for their favourite four and as all have different styles of crafting we believe this gives every entrant a fair and even opportunity of winning. Some months those choices are hard as they were again this month, but we do have a winner who will receive the great £35 store voucher from Little Claire................

Tracy's got the blues

Good morning Peeps, just popping in with our mid month post and a reminder that our current theme is Feature a Creature and runs until Wednesday 29th July. So you still have plenty of time to join in for a chance to win the great prize from Little Claire, it's a fabulous £35 store voucher, just think what you could buy with that !

Following our current mid month theme it's the turn of Tracy to use her least favourite colour, although looking at her pretty card one would never know, she explains way............

"The colour I least like working with is BLUE, I find it hard sometimes to use, as it's a cold colour to me. I don't have any blue in my home and apart from jeans I don't wear it either.

I made this card for my son's teacher for the end of the school year to say thank you".

Many thanks for the inspiration Tracy and I'm sure your son's teacher will love it.

July challenge - Feature a Creature

Good morning and welcome to our July challenge and this month out theme is one I think will be popular......................

******Feature a Creature******

Usual rules apply, you can enter up to three times, combine with other challenges, use any make of stamp......but can I please remind you.........we are a stamping challenge so must see a stamped image, sentiment or quote as the focal element of your artwork. We are thrilled to have Little Claire as this months sponsor again who are offering a fab £35 store voucher to spend on their products. Little Claire is a team of 3 consisting of Gill (Little Claire) Steve and Carol (long suffering member of staff/friend/all round good egg – but not as beautiful as Gill!). Necessity is the mother of invention’ this is the saying that sums up the creation of Little Claire Designs – we love stamps and what better way to satisfy the stamping ‘urge’ than to create our own designs exactly as we want them!

Our lovely Guest Designer this month is Julie who has made this gorgeous card to share with us.......

And here is the inspiration from the Design Team who are bursting with ideas for the theme................
